What the 2021 Year of the Ox Has In Store for You

By Samantha Vincenty

Feb 5, 2021

February 12, 2021 is the Lunar New Year, per the lunisolar calendars traditional in many Asian countries including China, Vietnam, and South Korea. The holiday of new beginnings, reunion dinners with loved ones, and Spring Festival celebrations in China also introduces the Year of the Metal Ox, marking the end of the Year of the Metal Rat. Those with an interest in Chinese zodiac animals may already know that some 2020 Rat predictions were just as unfortunate as the year turned out to be, and now, a new question looms: Will this Year of the Ox be lucky?

That can depend on a variety of individual factors. The compatibility of your personality with the traits of the Ox is affected by your own zodiac animal, according to Susan Levitt, professional astrologer, feng shui consultant, and author of Taoist Astrology. 2021 is also impacted by the fact that it’s a metal year (metal is one of the five elements of the Chinese zodiac; more on this later). Also, you may want to nail down what “lucky” means to you.

“What is the goal, what are you trying to do?” Levitt says. “And, does the energy of the Ox match with your personality or your energy?”RELATED STORIES

What Is the Lunar New Year?

11 Lunar New Year Foods and What They Mean

Still, the Year of the Ox will impact us all in a few generally similar ways, according to both Levitt and Pocket Chinese Almanac authors and translators Joanna C. Lee and Ken Smith. Here’s what they have to say about the meaning of the Year of the Ox, and a few predictions for what it has in store.

Keep your head down in the Year of the Ox.

While Levitt is an astrologer and student of feng shui, Lee and Smith get their almanac predictions from a Hong Kong-based geomancer named Warwick Wong. Long practiced in his family, Wong’s style of Chinese geomancy is a form of divination, or forecasting the future, that observes astronomical movements and what Smith describes as “other atmospheric conditions.” Wong then interprets how these impact our lives down on earth, and his daily readings offer what’s lucky or unlucky to undertake (February 12 will be good for engagements or starting a business, but bad for rituals and paying out money). But Wong also gives Lee and Smith a general trajectory for what a given year will be like.

Basically, Lee says, “it’s a holding pattern.” Keep calm and carry on as best you can in 2021, but hold off on major moves if you’re able. And in a note worth taking whether you believe in the zodiac or not, Lee relays that Wong says to “try not to be obsessive about following the news, because so much information is in the air.” Essentially, preserve your energy and your spirit.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous lunar New Year of the Ox,

2019 Capricorn Eclipse begins Ox Month

NEW MOON ECLIPSE

Happy New Year! 2019 starts with two eclipses:
The new Moon on January 5, 2019 is a solar eclipse. The full Moon on January 20 will be a lunar eclipse.

The January 5 eclipse is in Earth sign Capricorn to clear out material things, and release all that we do not need. The January 20 eclipse is in Fire sign Leo to focus on art and self expression, to find or develop hidden talents to let them shine.

On the January 5 eclipse, the Sun, new Moon, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto are all in Capricorn. This brings a serious tone, but makes an ideal lunar cycle to complete practical matters such as health check-ups and work projects. It’s easier to stay focused and keep working.

And make time for some loving! Venus trines Mars, newly in rulership sign Aries, for some romance and luck in relationships. Contact me for your relationship forecast for 2019.

WOOD OX MONTH Jan 5 – Feb 3

This new Moon begins the month of the solid and reliable Ox. The inspirational element Wood adds energy and enthusiasm to the Ox. Luck is strong for those born in Ox, Rat, Snake, and Phoenix (Rooster) years, and for the Earth signs Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo.

This Ox month is the final month of the Dog year. The next new Moon starts the year of the Pig. Join me for my Pig year talk on Sunday January 13 from 2 – 3:30 pm at East West Books, 324 Castro Street in Mt. View CA. Link for Tickets.

2018 DOG YEAR CHARM

February 19, 2018 § 2 Comments

DOG YEAR CHARM   bunny charm

What is the best charm for 2018 Dog year? A Rabbit charm!

Dog is most compatible with Dog’s harmony trine of Dog, Tiger & Horse. Rabbit is the one other animal sign who is Dog’s ally outside the harmony trine. So your lucky charm is the animals sign who is the ally not in your harmony trine. Charms can be worn as jewelry, attached to a handbag, worn in your pocket, or placed in your clothing or wallet. You can find a Rabbit charm in the Chinatown in your city, or look online.

Note that a Rabbit charm is not recommended if you were born in Phoenix (Rooster) year because Rabbit is your opposite. And if you have Dragon charms or decorations, especially in your home, put them away this Dog year because Dog is opposite Dragon.

YOUR ALLY is YOUR CHARM

Rat’s ally is Ox so your charm is OX. Your harmony trine is Rat, Dragon, and Monkey.
The charm for Rat year is Ox, but not if you are a Sheep (Goat, Ram) because Ox is your opposite.

Ox’s ally is Rat so your charm is RAT. Your harmony trine is Ox, Snake, and Phoenix (Rooster).
The charm for Ox year is Rat, but not if you are a Horse because Rat is your opposite.

Tiger’s ally is Pig so your charm is PIG. Your harmony trine is Tiger, Horse, and Dog.
The charm for Tiger year is Pig, but not if you are a Snake because Pig is your opposite.

Rabbit’s ally is Dog so your charm is DOG. Your harmony trine is Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig.
The charm for Rabbit year is Dog, but not if you are a Dragon because Dog is your opposite.

Dragon’s ally is Phoenix (Rooster) so your charm is PHOENIX. Your harmony trine is Rat, Dragon, and Monkey.
The charm for Dragon year is Phoenix, but not if you are a Rabbit because Phoenix is your opposite.

Snake’s ally is Monkey so your charm is MONKEY. Your harmony trine is Rat, Dragon, and Monkey.
The charm for Snake year is Monkey, but not if you are a Tiger because Monkey is your opposite.

Horse’s ally is Sheep (Goat, Ram) so your charm is SHEEP. Your harmony trine is Tiger, Horse, and Dog.
The charm for Horse year is Sheep, but not if you are an Ox because Sheep is your opposite.

Sheep’s ally is Horse so your charm is HORSE. Your harmony trine is Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig.
The charm for Sheep year is Horse, but not if you are a Rat because Horse is your opposite.

Monkey’s ally is Snake so your charm is SNAKE. Your harmony trine is Rat, Dragon, and Monkey.
The charm for Monkey year is Snake, but not if you are a Pig because Snake is your opposite.

Phoenix’s ally is Dragon so your charm is DRAGON — but no Dragon in this Dog year! Your harmony trine is Ox, Snake, and Phoenix (Rooster). The charm for Phoenix year is Dragon, but not if you are a Dog because Dragon is your opposite.

Dog’s ally is Rabbit so your charm is RABBIT. Your harmony trine is Tiger, Horse, and Dog.
The charm for Dog year is Rabbit, but not if you are a Phoenix (Rooster) because Rabbit is your opposite.

Pig’s ally is Tiger so your charm is TIGER. Your harmony trine is Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig.
The charm for Pig year is Tiger, but not if you are a Monkey because Tiger is your opposite.

Know that you can have luck this year in Dog without wearing or carrying any charms. A tidy work station can advance your career as much as the finest jade Rabbit charm on your desk. A clean bedroom can strengthen your relationship as much as carrying a Rabbit charm in your handbag.

So to enhance your luck, keep your home and workplace clean and tidy. Then it will be easier to stay balanced and not become overwhelmed, especially at work. Contact me for your feng shui consultation for Dog year.

For more information and details about animal compatibility, see pages 36 through 43 of my book Taoist Astrology.

Wishing you good luck in Dog year,

Susan

2017 Fire Phoenix (Rooster) Feng Shui Tips

February 7, 2017 § Leave a comment

fire-phoenix

Please join me this coming Saturday Feb 11 2017 for my Chinese New Year lecture at East West Books in Mt. View CA!

2017 Fire Phoenix year is time for transformation.  Read about the personality traits of the Phoenix. Phoenix correlates to the Western sign Virgo, the sign of health, healing, rebirth, and dedicated work that brings rewards.

Chinese Medicine

ceramic-phoenixAll eight limbs of Chinese medicine work together to create good health: feng shui, astrology, herbology, exercise (tai chi, chi kung), meditation, diet, massage and acupuncture, and moxibustion. (Moxibustion uses heat to stimulate points in the body, similar to how acupuncture needles stimulate points.)

Feng shui is the limb of Chinese medicine whereby health is restored and maintained in a calm, peaceful environment. Phoenix year is ideal for restoration of your health.

Tidy Phoenix

Tidy up before you leave your home and office. Then a peaceful home awaits you as you enter into a clean, not chaotic, environment. Especially at your place of work, it is not favorable to leave a mess over the weekend. Stop mess before it builds up to create good luck in Fire Phoenix year.

Fire Phoenix is an active go-getter. Home is important to Phoenix to provide a secure, safe place when they come home, especially for Phoenix children. Some activities might be out of your control in a Phoenix year, but you can control how you maintain and keep clean your living space.

Luck Enters

classic-phoenix-birdWhere to start to bring in luck in Phoenix year? Start at your front door. Clean your entry to welcome all the good luck that will come into your home and place of business in the new year. Wash, sweep, or vacuum the front steps, porch, entry hall, lobby –whatever the entry is where you live. Make this area clean, well lit, and inviting. Check the entry’s lighting fixtures, make sure the doorbell works, and touch up scuff marks with a fresh coat of paint, or add a new rug.

Ba-Gua Map

One style of feng shui is to overlay a map of eight tri-grams, called ba-gua in Chinese.

baguafawnchangfengshui1Ba-gua focus to create abundance for Fire Phoenix year is to emphasize the Wealth and Prosperity corner. This is located in the far left-hand corner from the entry. The more money that Phoenix receives for their hard work, the more inspired they are to accomplish and create. Acquiring, spending, and investing money offers Phoenix a sense of security and power. Once Phoenix feels secure about finances, they can make a powerful contribution to humanity as healers and helpers.

Because Fire Phoenix’s strong personality can clash with others who do not want to hear the truth, also embellish the Partnership and Relationship corner, located at the far right-hand corner from the entry. This can ease the path to harmonious interactions, especially with co-workers. Fire Phoenix energy can, at times, bring out the type A personality in even the most laid back person.

When using the ba-gua map, be sure that all areas are clean with no clutter! Don’t get stuck in life by living with too much stuff. Avoid all clutter in Phoenix year, or you could experience poor health.

Enhance Your Living Room

lovely-phoenixEvery room of your home or office has a Wealth corner to focus on in Phoenix year. But the most important room this year is your living room because that is the room of the element Fire, and 2017 is the year of the Fire Phoenix. Fix your living room, a major yang room.

Start by standing at the entry of your living room. Then observe what is in your Wealth and Prosperity corner. Really look at your living room to make it the living room that you want. Then focus on the Partnership and Relationship corner.

Flying Stars

In a feng shui system of flying stars, every year the stars change location. I know this system but do not use it. For those who do, the direction South is supposed to be bad, and the Southwest is also unfortunate and a place for robbery. See why I don’t use this system? It’s too fatalistic. If you have concerns about a direction being unlucky, then be sure that area is clean, made conscious, and nicely decorated!

East is good, avoid the West. But no need to avoid half of a room. Just make the entire room balanced. The Southeast is good, and I’ve seen recommendations online to add a SE fountain. But I do not recommend any fountains where the climate is cold, snowy, damp, prone to flooding, foggy, or close to a body of water.

Phoenix is Thrifty

Phoenix year is time to manage your finances. Phoenix, like Phoenix’s buddies Ox and Snake, are good with money. But Phoenix can be a dandy, and pays attention to the details of clothing. Looks matters to Phoenix so groom well and perhaps purchase one or two items for an upgrade this year. Travel is fortunate this year, but find the best bargain.

First Thing Seen

What is the first thing seen when you enter your home? Your eye goes somewhere, so direct the eye by organizing each room so that the first thing seen sets a pleasant tone. This makes the room inviting to enter. Make sure that the first thing seen in each room is clean and inspiring. You do not want to see a pile of paperwork or any type of mess. Stay tidy, especially in a Fire year that brings lots of activity.

Pay Off Debt

It is most fortunate to start the New Year with no debt. (A mortgage or a school loan are not in this category.) If you have personal debt on New Year, think ahead by budgeting and planning. Organize your finances to get out of debt this year. Watch out for overspending, especially in autumn.

 Paint One Room

The energy of any environment can be transformed completely by adding a coat of paint. If each room of your home has white or ivory walls, all that white is too much of the element Metal which can lead to arguing and bickering. Be sure to paint at least one room with color.

The painted room can be a small room such as a bathroom. Good colors for a small room are light blue for a bathroom or light green for a bedroom. Be sure the blue or green are restful and not too bright. Yellow is good in the kitchen, or gold in the dining room.

Which room to paint? Paint the room that looks the most rundown and is in the most need of sprucing up.

5 elements brightPaint Colors

Paint colors correlate to the five Taoist elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood:

FIRE/HEART/LIVING ROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element fire is represented by the heart. The living room is the heart of the home. Your living room is best in bright and lively Fire colors red, purple, and all shades of red or with bright accents to stimulate conversation and activity.

EARTH/STOMACH/DINING ROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element earth is the stomach. The dining room is where we eat and digest food. The dining room is best in earthen tones of gold, terra cotta, or other soft yin colors. Red paint in a dining area is too stimulating and people eat too fast.

METAL/LUNGS/BEDROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element metal is the lungs. The bedroom is where we sleep and breathe deeply while resting. Best bedroom colors are white, cream, and soft pastels. Avoid bright big prints on bedding and drapery, especially in a child’s room, because it’s too yang and not restful.

WATER/KIDNEYS/BATHROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element water is the kidneys, and therefore correlates to the bathroom. Paint this room in a soft, quiet, and calm color for peaceful elimination of waste and for soothing bathing or showering. Light blue is fine.

WOOD/LIVER/KITCHEN – In Chinese medicine, the element wood is the liver. Wood is used in a kitchen to feed the cooking fire. The kitchen must be kept very clean because this is where food is prepared, so white walls are best. But green accents or a plant are recommended to introduce the Wood element into this Wood room.

Flowers and Plants

feng_shui430x300Add beautiful flowers to welcome the New Year! It’s fortunate to add plants, flowers, and healthy bamboo to your home and workplace to increase abundance. Fresh flowers bring fresh aroma that clears the air for New Year, especially if your home feels dark, over heated, or musty.

The energy of a room is brightened by the addition of flowers and plants. And plants offer fresh oxygen to improve health. So be sure to add fresh cut flowers or a healthy plant to your home for New Year.

Plants

For both home and office, add green house plants with round leaves such as a lily (peace plant), jade, pothos, Chinese evergreen, or orchids with round leaves. If you do not have a green thumb, bring in fresh flowers on Monday to the office, or add silk flowers in lively colors.

Lucky Flowers

Lucky flowers are orchids, peonies, and lilies. Chrysanthemums have a scent that not everyone likes, so pay attention to scent. Roses are fine in a home or office, but remove them if there’s arguing (influence of the rose’s thorns.) Avoid thorny plants like a cactus, indoors or outdoors. Instead, grow lush plants that have soft round leaves like a jade plant or philodendron.

Stay Evergreen

Outdoors, it is more fortunate to have plants that stay ever green and do not ever lose their leaves. Bamboo is especially lucky in feng shui because as it grows, the new growth is stronger and longer. Bamboo sways gently in the wind, meaning that it is easily adaptable to change. But be sure your bamboo does not dry out and become yellowed. If you have bamboo, keep it watered and transfer it to a larger container when it outgrows the original container.

Healthy Plants Only

Be sure that your plants stay healthy throughout the year. If not, recycle the withered plant and replace it with a fresh, healthy one. A bouquet of fresh flowers is excellent to add beauty, fragrance, and luck, but be sure to recycle the flowers when they lose energy and begin to wilt. No dead or dried flowers, and no potpourri.

Silk Flowers

Silk flowers are superb in feng shui because they are a wonderful way to add color and life to your environment. If you bring home a lovely orchid, after the flower wilts, cut away the dead stalk and insert a good-quality silk orchid into your container. Then your orchid appears to be always in bloom — instead of a dead stalk tied to a stake.

Avoid the Money Plant

Perhaps you’ve seen what is referred to as a “money plant.” This potted plant usually is decorated with gold or red charms. But this type of plant tends to get leggy as it grows, with long stringy branches weighed down by the charms. So this money plant is not a good choice. A lush round jade plant is better choice than the so-called money plant.

Fish Tank or Fountain

If you do add a fish tank or fountain, be sure you can commit to the work involved in maintaining a tank. These are living creatures! A fountain requires maintenance too. A fountain in this Fire year is not particularly fortunate because Water extinguishes Fire, although adding Water can help calm Fire energy if it gets too argumentative in Fire Phoenix year.

FIRE PHOENIX YEAR 2017

Happy Chinese New Year! January 27 2017 is a new Moon in Aquarius at 4:07 pm PST that begins the year of the Phoenix (Rooster). Some translations refer to 2017 as Rooster year or Chicken year, but I use the translation Phoenix because it brings opportunities for rebirth and transformation.

Phoenix year is fortunate for all Phoenixes, and for Phoenix’s most compatible signs Ox, Snake, and Dragon. Phoenix energy can, at times, be challenging for Rabbit. Phoenix correlates to the Western sign Virgo.

Feng shui tips for Fire Phoenix year!

Please join me for my Year of the Fire Phoenix talk!
Saturday February 11 2017 from 1 – 2:30 pm at East West Books, 324 Castro Street in Mountain View CA. To purchase tickets, click here or call East West Books at 650-988-9800 or 800.909.6161.

The Way of the Phoenix
phoenix-platePhoenix is a brilliant, inspirational, and fearless visionary. The element Fire is perfect for Phoenix because Fire brings strength, passion, bravery, and leadership. So now is the year to break free, claim your destiny, and overcome obstacles. You can heal past actions, even past lives, with your new awareness.

Success in Phoenix Year
Three tips for success are:

brave-phoenixFirst, pay attention to your health. This is the year to exercise, get in shape, and eat well. If you are exhausted after Fire Monkey 2016, then 2017 is especially your year to focus on health, healing, and restoration.

Bad back for years, not seen a dentist, or any type of delay in dealing with your health? This is the year to finally address health issues, and not let health challenges drag on. Same with your home. Time to clean out the old and unused, and live more efficiently in this Fire bird year.

Second is to organize your finances. Deal with any debt, plan, budget, and be aware of your spending. Those born in Phoenix year are naturally very good at accounting, can find a bargain, and appreciate thrift as do Phoenix’s best friends Ox and Snake.

Third is to work hard with focus. 2017 is the year to apply yourself in your career. Be persistent, yet flexible. This is not the time to goof off or take your job for granted. Phoenix year is work before play, so get organized and contribute on the job. For some, it may feel like beak to the grindstone with superiors criticizing or micromanaging. But stay strong and do the work! Excuses will not be tolerated in a no-nonsense Phoenix year.

Phoenix Character

ceramic-phoenixThose born in Phoenix years (1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) are sharp people who are blessed with keen judgement and quick wit. A clear thinker who benefits from higher knowledge, Phoenix can be an outstanding scholar. Phoenix is naturally curious and enjoys intellectual exchange. Phoenix is popular, outspoken, and well liked so often has a flock of admirers.

Phoenix is very resourceful and can be thrown into any situation and on a moment’s notice and emerge a winner. Others seek Phoenix’s advice because Phoenix perceptions are unique, and Phoenix is a creative problem solver.

In matters of romance, Phoenix is serious and loyal. Phoenix is naturally honest, with a frank style of communication that does not sugar coat the truth. But Phoenix might be a teller of tall tales or embellish a story to make a point.

Loving and bonded in relationships but independent at work, it’s usually best that a Phoenix run their own business. If mystically inclined, Phoenix can develop prophetic abilities to become like the rare Phoenix, the mythical bird that symbolizes transformation, beauty, and grace. Phoenix can magically arise from the ashes to create a new life. So do not allow critical thinking or procrastination stop you.
5-elements-bright

Fire Phoenix
Of the five Taoist elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood, this is the year of the Fire Phoenix. Red means go!

Fire brings passion, creativity, and joy. Fire types are strong, dynamic, and can overcome illness and obstacles. Just be aware that Fire can be very enthusiastic (like Wood) so do not take on more responsibilities than you can handle, especially in autumn.

Lucky Hours
In Phoenix year, activities are more successful when undertaken during hours that are favorable for Phoenix: Phoenix, Ox, Snake, and Dragon hours.

Phoenix hours are 5 – 7 pm
Ox hours are 1 – 3 am
Snake hours are 9 – 11 am
Dragon hours are 7 – 9 am

Chinese New Year Date
Chinese New Year is a spring festival that begins on the second new Moon after Winter Solstice. But in the Solar Terms Chinese agricultural calendar, the Chinese New Year begins on February 4 or 5. This Li Chun date, based on Solar Terms (15 degrees along the ecliptic) is close to February 2nd, a date that marks the point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.

YOUR FORTUNE IN FIRE PHOENIX YEAR

RAT – A festive and fun year, and a continuation of good fortune from the previous Fire Monkey year. Both Rat and Phoenix are smart, sharp, and quick-witted. Under the protective wings of the Phoenix, you can accomplish much this year, and receive warm support from others. But Phoenix’s influence requires hard work. It’s work before play, so time to be diligent. Plan carefully, and bit by bit attain your goals with a successful harvest in autumn. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Rat is most compatible with another Rat, Dragon, or Monkey. Ox is also compatible. Horse is least compatible.

OX – Finally, good times for you because Phoenix is most compatible with Ox (and Snake). You and Phoenix can be no-nonsense realists who will appreciate the Phoenix year influence of accountability and responsibility. Family life is harmonious, and you are recognized for your contributions. Work is rewarding, especially in autumn. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Ox is most compatible with another Ox, Phoenix, or Snake. Rat is also compatible. Sheep is least compatible.

TIGER – Phoenix and Tiger are very different so anticipate some misunderstandings. But friends, family, and colleagues offer their support so Tiger is still well loved! If you experience minor disappointments or some unhappiness, take your time and don’t be hard on yourself. This Fire Phoenix year is an excellent time to get organized for your new fortunate life cycle in 2018 Earth Dog year. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Tiger is most compatible with another Tiger, Horse, or Dog. Pig is also compatible. Monkey is least compatible.

RABBIT – Stay your good, kind, and artistic Rabbit self! Phoenix is your opposite so prepare for criticism or conflict of interest. The martial tones of the Phoenix could irritate your fine aesthetics. Money strains can bring debt so watch your spending. If hard work causes frustration, do the best you can instead of confronting authority figures. Next year Earth Dog 2018 is a lucky year for you when the truth is championed and you find success. Good feng shui of your home and office is a must for sensitive Rabbit to take care during this Phoenix year. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Rabbit is most compatible with another Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig. Dog is also compatible. Phoenix is least compatible.

DRAGON – Dragon and Phoenix are a symbol of harmonious marriage so relationships are highlighted this year. Anticipate good fortune and prosperity, happiness, positive news, promotion, and business opportunities. New friends and contacts bring important connections. Dragon is king this year, and you can achieve your goals. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Dragon is most compatible with another Dragon, a Rat, or Monkey. Phoenix (Rooster) is also compatible. Dog is least compatible.

SNAKE – Phoenix is one of the best companions for Snake because you and Phoenix share a harmony trine with Ox. Snake is celebrated and enjoys popularity. Recognition, promotion, and bonuses are foreseen. The work you do behind the scenes now comes to light, and can be rewarded. Stay steady at work, and be thrifty. Follow your instincts to know when it’s best to lay low. Luck is with you all year, especially in late summer. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Snake is most compatible with another Snake, Ox, or Phoenix (Rooster). Monkey is also compatible. Pig is least compatible.

HORSE – A harmonious year that brings good fortune and good news. Phoenix and Horse are both sexy signs who enjoy good times, so you and Phoenix are on the same page. Home life is secure, and problems are not overwhelming. Plus business is good. But Horse might be required to work harder, and slow down development. Just don’t let affairs get out of hand, especially in autumn. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Horse is most compatible with another Horse, Dog, or Tiger. Sheep is also compatible. The Rat is least compatible.

SHEEP – Let the rest of the world compete for success this year. Instead, tend to your health, back down from arguments, and treat this year as if you’re at a spaaa. Could be some trying times for us Sheep because Phoenix’s influence demands hard work, and responsible accounting for how time and money are spent. And we do not respond well to criticism. It’s best to comply, curb spending (Sheep eat paper), and maintain firm boundaries. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Sheep is most compatible with another Sheep, Pig, or Rabbit. Horse is also compatible. Ox is least compatible.

MONKEY – After the exciting Fire Monkey year 2016, build on your Monkey year success by following up and completing projects. But under Phoenix’s influence, Monkey must work steadily and pay attention to details, and that’s not of interest to any Monkey. Overextending yourself could lead to health problems. So maintain a conservative outlook, and be in observation mode. You’ll learn a lot about human nature this year. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Monkey is most compatible with another Monkey, Rat, or Dragon. Snake is also compatible. Tiger is least compatible.

PHOENIX (Rooster) – Rooster, Chicken, Cock, Hen? I call you Phoenix, offering a lifetime of opportunities to be reborn and transformed. You benefit from the influence of your own year, and start a new life cycle. You’ll have to work hard, but affairs are under control, order reigns, and you rise in glory. Looking for love in Phoenix year? Phoenix is most compatible with another Phoenix (if they don’t peck each other), Ox, or Snake. Dragon is also compatible. Rabbit is least compatible.

DOG – Phoenix year emphasis on material success and achievement run counter to Dog’s values. So stay true to your convictions. This is a good year for education, and you can find advancement through new learning or specialized training. You’ll start a fortunate 12-year cycle in Earth Dog year 2018 so allow some friendships or circumstances to end this year.
