Summer Solstice!

SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON on SUMMER SOLSTICE

June 20, 2016 at 4:02 am PT is a full Moon in Sagittarius. This is the second full Moon in Sagittarius this year, an unusual occurrence. This full Moon in 29 degrees of Sagittarius, the last degree of this sign, brings a second opportunity to speak your truth, make change, and move forward. At 3:24 pm PT is Summer Solstice, the longest day in the northern hemisphere. Time to enjoy the sunshine and beauty of Mother Nature at her peak.

The Sun is conjunct Venus that brings creativity, romance, and social times. But this Sun/Venus conjunction is opposite the full Moon so your head might decide one thing while you heart feels another. Fortunately, the full Moon trines Uranus to break your routine, and discover new ideas and experiences.

There is a grand mutable square of Mercury in Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius, and squaring Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces. Due to so many mutable signs, it’s easy to get ahead of yourself. It can be a challenge to be patient or allow events to develop over time, especially in relationships. It’s best to be flexible and adaptable to more easily flow with mutable energy.

Fiery Sagittarius full Moon plus Summer Solstice energy is inspirational for all, and is most strongly experienced by the Fire signs Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo and those born in Rat, Dragon, and Monkey years. During these exciting times, call me at 415.642.8019 in San Francisco or email susan@susanlevitt.com to schedule your tarot, astrology, or feng shui consultation.

Happy full Moon and Summer Solstice,

December 17, 2015 § 5 Comments

AngelWinter Solstice

December 21, 2015 at 8:49 pm PT is Winter Solstice, the longest night in the northern hemisphere. The Sun enters Earth sign Capricorn, and many planets are in Earth signs to get grounded by focusing on earthly matters such as health and finances.

There is much good fortune as the Moon in Taurus makes a grand trine with Mercury, Jupiter, and Pluto. People are in touch with their emotions and can express what they feel, there is a pleasant sense of well being and generosity, and encounters with others are powerful.

The Taurean Moon also sextiles Neptune in Pisces for creative reflection. But Mercury squares Mars and Uranus so be thorough when communicating. You can defend your beliefs and stay true to your values, no mater how different or eclectic they may be.

Christmas Full Moon in Cancer

December 25 at 3:11 am PT is a full Moon in Cancer. Cancer is a nurturing Water sign that rules the 4th house of family, home, and roots. It is very fortunate that the Cancer full Moon occurs on Christmas day, making this a very special time for family and friends. The full Moon trines Neptune in Pisces for inspiration, plus empathy and intuition are heightened.

Mercury in Capricorn trines Jupiter in Virgo that sharpens the mind for lively conversations and new perception. Venus in Scorpio sextiles Jupiter to be at peace with the world, and relationships bring out your best qualities. Planet of change Uranus is no longer retrograde today so there can be more stability.

December 26 begins Kwanzaa when the Moon, still in Cancer, trines Venus in Scorpio for enjoyment of food and drink, and brings very good fortune in relationships. Cancer full Moon luck is strongest for the Water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces and those born in Sheep, Pig, and Rabbit years. Call me at 415.642.8019 in San Francisco or email susan@susanlevitt.com to schedule your tarot, astrology, or feng shui consultation.

CHRISTMAS FULL MOON in CANCER

annunciating angelDecember 25 at 3:11 am PT is a full Moon in Water sign Cancer. Cancer is a sensitive Water sign that rules the 4th house of loving, caring, and nurturing. Cancer is the sign of the great mother, family, and home.

Very fortunate is that this full Moon occurs on Christmas day, making this a very special time for family. And this full Moon in Cancer trines Neptune in Water sign Pisces to be in touch with your emotions. Empathy and intuition are heightened. Sensitive people (and animals) can feel psychic.

Fortunately, Mercury trines Jupiter in Virgo for good communicating, expands your perceptions, and sharpens the mind. Planet of change Uranus is no longer retrograde today so there can be more stability, but curb risk taking as Sheep year winds down.

Tomorrow is Kwanzaa when the Moon is still in mothering Water sign Cancer. The Cancer Moon trines Venus in Scorpio for depth of perception, and very good fortune in relationships.

But this is not a good time for surgeries of any kind. Click here for surgery by lunar cycles information.

THE SOLAR YEAR

August 2, 2015 § 4 Comments

Lammas Green ManToday August 2nd marks the solar point between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.

Western astrology is structured on solar cycles. Asian astrology is structured on lunar cycles. By following both natural systems, the yang solar calendar and the yin lunar calendar, we can flow with the eternal cycles of nature because we are nature.

MAJOR SOLAR HOLIDAYS

The Western solar year starts with zero degrees Aries at Spring Equinox. Each of the 12 astrology signs cover 30 degrees. All 12 signs times 30 degrees = the 360 degree circle of the zodiac. The four major calendar points of the solar year are:

SPRING EQUINOX (Vernal Equinox) Equal day and equal night.
The Sun enters cardinal Fire sign Aries.

SUMMER SOLSTICE The longest day in the northern hemisphere.
The Sun enters cardinal Water sign Cancer.

AUTUMN EQUINOX Again equal day and equal night.
The Sun enters cardinal Air sign Libra.

WINTER SOLSTICE The longest night in the northern hemisphere.
The Sun enters cardinal Earth sign Capricorn.

All four elements Fire, Water, Air, and Earth are highlighted at these 4 solar points. These dates are usually the 21st of March, June, September, and December but not always because the Gregorian calendar is irregular. Months are different lengths, and there is a leap year.

MINOR SOLAR HOLIDAYS

Four minor solar holidays mark the mid points between the Equinoxes and Solstices:

CANDLEMAS (Imbolc) on February 2 marks the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Animals awaken after winter hibernation, hence Groundhog Day for augury from the movement of animals.

MAY DAY on May 1, also called Beltane, marks the point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. This spring festival represents the Maiden aspect of the Maiden-Mother-Crone Goddess.

LAMMAS on August 2, also called Lughnasad, marks the point between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. Lammas is a Mother Goddess (and grain God) harvest festival.

HALLOWEEN on October 31, also called Hallomas, marks the point between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. Halloween, the most popular minor Solar holiday, is close to November 2 Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos). Both Halloween and Day of the Dead celebrate the Crone aspect of the Goddess.

Wishing you happy Lammas,

Susan Levitt

Hare Spring FlowersSOLAR ECLIPSE in PISCES

March 20, 2015 at 2:36 am PT is a new Moon eclipse in Pisces. An eclipse is an absence of light when the shadow is seen, so note your dreams, subconscious responses, and unexpected coincidences; what is important will rise to the surface.

Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Neptune are all in Pisces for increased altruism and empathy. Under the influence of sensitive Water sign Pisces, this is an ideal time to contact me at 415.642.8019 or susan@susanlevitt.com and schedule your tarot card reading, Sheep year forecast, or feng shui consultation.

EARTH RABBIT MONTH

This new Moon eclipse begins the month of the Earth Rabbit, the fortunate golden Rabbit. Rabbit is an artistic and gentle soul who craves peace and harmony. We can relax into the slower pace of this Sheep year because Sheep and Rabbit are best friends.

Rabbit correlates to the western sign Pisces, and Sheep correlates to the western sign Cancer, making this lunar month especially lucky for Water signs Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio and for those born in Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig years.

VENUS in TAURUS

Adding to the beauty of Rabbit month in Sheep year is that Venus, the planet of love, art, music, and beauty, is in Taurus from March 17 through April 11. Venus is exalted in Taurus, the best sign for Venus. Earthy Taurus appreciates fine food, sensual pleasure, and all that is lovely and precious.

SPRING EQUINOX

March 20 is also Spring Equinox at 3:45 pm PT. Spring Equinox, the time of equal day and equal night all over the world, is the balance point between Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice. The Sun enters Fire sign Aries for a fresh start and new beginning this spring. Out with the old and in with the new!

Happy new Moon,

Susan

Equinox New Moon and Dog Months

September 17, 2014 § 1 Comment

Leaves LipAUTUMN EQUINOX

Monday September 22, 2014 is Autumn Equinox at 7:29 pm PDT. Equinox and Solstice are astronomical events caused by Earth’s tilt on its axis and continual orbit around the Sun. Equinox is a time of balance as the seasonal wheel turns. Fortunately the Moon trines Pluto for good self expression and insights. Pluto is no longer retrograde, goes direct today, for less emotional turmoil or unconsciousness behavior.

NEW MOON IN LIBRA

Tuesday September 23 is a New Moon in Libra at 11:14 pm PDT. Air sign Libra rules the 7th house of marriage and partnership. This New Moon conjuncts Sun and Venus to focus on creativity in relationships. Plus the New Moon sextiles Saturn to understand others, and appreciate friendships that stood the test of time. This lunar cycle is opportune to network and expand your circle.

On Friday is a grand Fire trine of Mars in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Leo, and Uranus in Aries. This grand trine is superb for all kinds of activities; you can plan with foresight and see the big picture, business transactions are favored, and natural optimism leads to beneficial results. You can grasp new ideas quickly, and fortunate discoveries or inventions happen as if by accident.

WOOD DOG MONTHS

This New Moon begins two consecutive Wood Dog months. Wood Dog months are extremely auspicious in this Wood Horse year because Dog and Horse are best friends. Wood represents growth and expansion. Action is rewarded, and it’s good to focus on goals.

New Moon opportunities for growth and development are for everyone, and are strongest for Air signs Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini and those born in Dog, Rabbit, Tiger, and Horse years. Call me at 415.642.8019 or email susan@susanlevitt.com to schedule your tarot, astrology, or feng shui consultation.

Happy New Moon,

Susan
