2022 New Moon in Aquarius starts Water Tiger Year

January 31, 2022 at 9:46 pm PST but February 1 in China is a new Moon in Air sign Aquarius. This new Moon in Aquarius begins CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR. Chinese New Year is the second new Moon after Winter Solstice, in late January or early February of the Gregorian calendar.

The first month of the lunar year is always a Tiger month. 2022 begins with a Water Tiger month in a Water Tiger year. Double Water Tiger! Time to follow your emotions and instincts.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended my online 2022 YEAR OF THE WATER TIGER talk on Feb 9. Copies are available for purchase. In 1986 I became a professional tarot reader and astrologer. That was 36 years ago in a Tiger year, a good time to start a business. I appreciate your support all these years.

2022 Water Tiger Year

Welcome to the new Roaring Twenties! Water Tiger 2022 brings power, passion, and daring. Now is time to pounce, take a risk, and start new endeavors. Brave and bold actions are rewarded.

The year of the Tiger is explosive, wildly creative, big, and bold. It’s a time of extremes when all of life’s activities will be experienced on a grand scale. Tempers flare, drama and excitement reign, and crazy dreams can become reality. Expect massive social change, political rebellions, and military coups. Contact me to schedule your Astrology forecast or Tarot reading for Tiger year.

Tiger the Individual

Tiger is grand, daring, powerful, independent, creative, and dynamic. Tiger individuals value freedom, are adventurers, and don’t ever want to be caged in or held back. No matter how many obstacles stand in the way, Tiger’s courage will not diminish. Tiger attacks with unique swiftness and stealth. Tiger actions show a combination of style and power. No one can tell Tiger what to do, Tiger stands out in the crowd, and Tiger is a free thinker who never conforms.

Four mighty Tigers guard the four directions:
North is guarded by the black Water Tiger who represents winter.
East is guarded by the green Wood Tiger who represents spring.
South is guarded by the red Fire Tiger who represents summer.
West is guarded by the white Metal Tiger who represents autumn.
The center is guarded by the yellow Earth Tiger who represents the sun.

The Chinese god of wealth, Hsai Shen, rides a Tiger that brings good fortune. All Tigers scare off thieves, ghosts, and fires. Therefore, Tiger is a formidable animal totem to contact in the shamanic realm to assist in banishment and purification.

The Element Water

2022 is a Water year of the five Taoist elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood. In feng shui, the Water environment is cool, dark, and soothing. The room of the home is the bathroom. This year, design your bathroom to be a private healing sanctuary to take long, healing baths. Bathing can be a quiet respite from the strong energy of Tiger year.

The most favorable season in a Water year is winter. In Chinese medicine, Water rules the kidneys (and bladder). This year, and next year Water Rabbit 2023, is the time to see an acupuncturist and take herbs for kidney balance if you experience health issues with urination, sleep, dreams, or other Water imbalances.

Your Fortune in Water Tiger Year

Rat
Birth years of the Rat: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020.
Next year of the Rat is 2032.

Tiger and Rat are very different astrology signs with very different temperaments. Tiger makes life decisions based on impulse, whereas you Rat prefer to plan and analyze. So do not get swept up in Tiger year excitement. Instead, be pragmatic and thorough. Avoid confrontations, especially lawsuits, because protocols might not be observed in a Tiger year. Rat likes rules because you can figure out a way around them. But in Tiger year, no one follows any rules. Tiger’s explosive energy can bring inspiration, yet Tiger’s changeable energy could bring instability for the usually cautious Rat. This is not your year to get rich quick. Plan that for Dragon year 2024. Dragon is your powerful ally. If others see you as calculating this year, know that Rat logic differs from Tiger instinct. Your best months are April, August, and December, and winter is your best season. The element Water empowers Water Rat born in 1972, and Wood Rat born in 1984.

Ox (Buffalo)
Birth years of the Ox: 1913, 1925, 1937,1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021.
Next year of the Ox is 2033.

Have some fun in Tiger year! You’ve been working hard! But stay true to your Ox nature of being reliable and strong. Others can take wild risks or enjoy caprices in a Tiger year, but it’s not in your best interest to do so. Instead, build on the respect received and solid gains made in your Ox year 2021. Tiger energy can bring unexpected problems, so stay the course and be diligent and conscientious in your work. Oxen born during Tiger month (February), on Tiger day, or during Tiger hours (3am – 5 am) have an easier time adapting to abrupt changes in plans and the lack of structure during a Tiger year. Your best months are May and September, and your best season is winter. The element Water empowers Water Ox born in 1973, and Wood Ox born in 1985.

Tiger
Birth years of the Tiger: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010.
Next year of the Tiger is 2022.

Go for it, Tiger! Free-spirited, powerful, and adventurous Tiger gets many lucky breaks this year. So follow your hunches and instincts. This is your year to experience good fortune, recognition, protection, and benevolence. Say yes to every opportunity. Love is found if single, or if in a partnership love deepens and is celebrated. Plan for big parties in spring and summer. Just refrain from overspending or being overly generous with gifts. Tigers are empowered by the energy of their own year. February, June, and October are your best months, and autumn is your best season. Luck is strongest for Water Tiger born in 1962, and Wood Tiger born in 1974.

Rabbit (Hare)
Birth years of the Rabbit: 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011.
Next year of the Rabbit is 2023.

The impulsive, explosive energy of Tiger year is entertaining. But it can, at times, be excessive for Rabbit’s peaceful, gentle nature. Unplanned changes and too much excitement can even effect your health. If scattered or overwhelmed, stay calm, conserve your energy, and be the peacemaker. Find solace in Water in this Water year with baths, saunas, and going to lakes, rivers, or the ocean. Transform your bathroom into a luxurious home spa. You start a new life cycle next year in Rabbit year 2023 so for many Rabbits this is the year to tie up loose ends and complete cycles. March, July, and November are your best months, and spring is your best season. The element Water empowers Water Rabbit born in 1963, and Wood Rabbit born in 1975.

Dragon
Birth years of the Dragon: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012.
Next year of the Dragon is 2024.

The two power animals of the Chinese zodiac are Dragon and Tiger. You, Dragon, can look forward to and enjoy Tiger year’s wild activities, sudden changes in plans, and changing relationship dynamics. You can experience success, celebrations, and good opportunities. But you can also be challenged this year if your plans are blocked by others, or if others won’t follow your Dragon lead. By year end, it is clear that Dragon is stronger than Tiger. Still, avoid power struggles or lawsuits because Tiger has a temper, and you can lose battles even if you win the war. Your lucky cycle is Dragon year 2024 so keep focus. April, August, and December are your best months. Spring is your best season. The element Water empowers Water Dragon born in 1952 and Wood Dragon born in 1964.

Snake
Birth years of the Snake: 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013.
Next year of the Snake is 2025.

Brash Tiger energy is very different from Snake’s refined sensibilities. The bold activities of others could result in difficulties or calamities, so refrain from overreacting or being codependent. Use your Serpent wisdom to cool down Tiger-year hot heads. Introspection and meditation bring rewards. A good use of vital Tiger year energy is to pursue your interest in the arts. In your career, build on what you accomplished in Ox year 2021. Your best months are May and September, and your best season is spring. The element Water empowers Water Snake born in 1953, and Wood Snake born in 1965.

Horse
Birth years of the Horse: 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014.
Next year of the Horse is 2026.

Happy times for the Horse! Horse is Tiger’s best friend, along with Dog. This Tiger year is your lucky chance to race off to greener pastures, and gallop after new opportunities. For some Horses, this is a chance to  really run free after the constricting previous Ox and Rat years. But for all Horses, it is fortunate to start new endeavors of all kinds from opening a business, buying a home, getting married, or having a baby. Anticipate lucky change and fortunate travel opportunities. Tiger year brings fun, frolic, and enjoyment of friends and family. Entertainment may be expensive, but this is the time for Horse to live well. February, June, and October are your best months, and your best season is summer. The element Water empowers Water Horse born in 2002 or 1942, and Wood Horse born in 1954 or 2014.

Sheep (Goat, Ram)
Birth years of the Sheep: 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015.
Next year of the Sheep is 2027.

Anticipate fun and exciting times for us Sheep. Sheep will be more social, and travel is fortunate. But don’t become depleted by Tiger year distractions. Tiger has endless energy, but not Sheep. So balance your energy, take care of your health, and practice self care. Think before you indulge, overspend, or make a commitment. March, July, and November are your best months. Summer is the luckiest season; winter is not. An even luckier year for Sheep will be Rabbit 2023 so don’t be melancholic during the winter of this Water year. The element Water empowers Water Sheep born in 2003 or 1943, and Wood Sheep born in 2015 or 1955.

Monkey
Birth years of the Monkey: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016.
Next year of the Monkey is 2028.

Tiger and Monkey are opposites. So the spotlight is not on Monkey this year, and you do not like to be ignored. You’re a natural leader, but no one is a follower in a Tiger year. Your usual support systems that you rely on might not be there. So don’t rely on others. Be more independent and resourceful. To avoid challenges, it’s best to build on your current foundation and not engage in too many new projects. Your best months are April, August, and December, and your best season is summer. The element Water empowers Water Monkey born in 1992, and Wood Monkey born in 2004 or 1944.

Phoenix (Rooster, Chicken)
Birth years of the Phoenix: 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017.
Next year of the Phoenix is 2029.

Ox year 2021 was a good year for you. Therefore, build on your successes by continuing the Ox energy of being patient and methodical. Tiger year brings enthusiastic energy and exciting changes for you, Phoenix. And you see opportunities for rebirth. But events can occur so quickly in a Tiger year that you could lose control. Maintain balance amid your new Tiger year activities. So keep a critical eye, strong boundaries, and not get swept up in Tiger year passions. Your best months are May and September. Autumn is your best season. The element Water empowers Water Phoenix born in 1993 or 1933, and Wood Phoenix born in 2005 and 1945.

Dog
Birth years of the Dog: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018.
Next year of the Dog is 2030.

This is your lucky year! Dog and Tiger are extremely compatible, along with Horse. Good fortune and strong energy are with you to know love and happiness. Dog experiences all kinds of windfalls and favors, including financial good luck. Time for a pay raise, promotion at work, or new more beneficial career. You appreciate Tiger year’s directness and quick problem solving that helps you cover much ground. Enjoy an excellent year as the consciousness of Tiger year inspires you to change the world. February, June, and October are your best months. Autumn is your best season. The element Water empowers Water Dog born in 1982, and Wood Dog born in 1994 or 1934.

Pig (Boar)
Birth years of the Pig: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019.
Next year of the Pig is 2031.

Exciting times! Your dreams can be fulfilled because Tiger and Pig are close allies. Luck is with you in all endeavors including romance. Finally, you have opportunities for adventure, advancement, and travel, especially after staid Ox year 2021. Tiger year 2022 and Rabbit year 2023 create a very good fortunate two-year cycle for all Pigs. March, July, and November are your best months. Autumn and winter are your best seasons. The element Water empowers Water Pig born in 1983, and Wood Pig born in 1995 or 1935.

Happy new Moon and happy lunar New Year,

Susan

What the 2021 Year of the Ox Has In Store for You

By Samantha Vincenty

Feb 5, 2021

February 12, 2021 is the Lunar New Year, per the lunisolar calendars traditional in many Asian countries including China, Vietnam, and South Korea. The holiday of new beginnings, reunion dinners with loved ones, and Spring Festival celebrations in China also introduces the Year of the Metal Ox, marking the end of the Year of the Metal Rat. Those with an interest in Chinese zodiac animals may already know that some 2020 Rat predictions were just as unfortunate as the year turned out to be, and now, a new question looms: Will this Year of the Ox be lucky?

That can depend on a variety of individual factors. The compatibility of your personality with the traits of the Ox is affected by your own zodiac animal, according to Susan Levitt, professional astrologer, feng shui consultant, and author of Taoist Astrology. 2021 is also impacted by the fact that it’s a metal year (metal is one of the five elements of the Chinese zodiac; more on this later). Also, you may want to nail down what “lucky” means to you.

“What is the goal, what are you trying to do?” Levitt says. “And, does the energy of the Ox match with your personality or your energy?”RELATED STORIES

What Is the Lunar New Year?

11 Lunar New Year Foods and What They Mean

Still, the Year of the Ox will impact us all in a few generally similar ways, according to both Levitt and Pocket Chinese Almanac authors and translators Joanna C. Lee and Ken Smith. Here’s what they have to say about the meaning of the Year of the Ox, and a few predictions for what it has in store.

Keep your head down in the Year of the Ox.

While Levitt is an astrologer and student of feng shui, Lee and Smith get their almanac predictions from a Hong Kong-based geomancer named Warwick Wong. Long practiced in his family, Wong’s style of Chinese geomancy is a form of divination, or forecasting the future, that observes astronomical movements and what Smith describes as “other atmospheric conditions.” Wong then interprets how these impact our lives down on earth, and his daily readings offer what’s lucky or unlucky to undertake (February 12 will be good for engagements or starting a business, but bad for rituals and paying out money). But Wong also gives Lee and Smith a general trajectory for what a given year will be like.

Basically, Lee says, “it’s a holding pattern.” Keep calm and carry on as best you can in 2021, but hold off on major moves if you’re able. And in a note worth taking whether you believe in the zodiac or not, Lee relays that Wong says to “try not to be obsessive about following the news, because so much information is in the air.” Essentially, preserve your energy and your spirit.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous lunar New Year of the Ox,

Susan

January 12 2021 at 9:00 pm PST is a new Moon in Capricorn. Earth sign Capricorn rules the 10th house of career and finance, making this a good time to get centered with practical matters. The new Moon, Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are all together in a planetary stellium. A stellium is a grouping of planets, and this one is in Capricorn and Aquarius bringing focus, innovation, and creative solutions.

Energy is high during this new Moon as Mars conjuncts Uranus in Taurus until February 2. Rash behavior, desire for freedom, and to assert one’s individuality can be done in a constructive way. So this lunar cycle is an auspicious time to innovate and begin a new project that will take much energy.

This new Moon begins Earth Ox lunar month, the kind and empathetic gold Ox. Extreme good fortune blesses the gold Ox. An Ox month is fortunate during a Rat year because Ox and Rat are strong allies. 2020 Leo Full Moon in Rat Year

February 6, 2020 § 1 Comment

sf full moon

February 8 2020 is a full Moon in Leo. Fire sign Leo rules the 5th house of creativity and children. The full Moon trines Mars in Sagittarius bringing vitality and courage to take action. Venus, newly in Aries, adds Fire and excitement. And in this Tiger month, it can feel like it’s time to pounce.

But not too far! Take things in small digestible bites in this Rat year. Small bites, like a mouse. Then you won’t become overwhelmed or caught up in a rat race.

Everyone starts a new life cycle in this Rat year. So make your plans now, do a small bit every day towards your goal, and reward comes at harvest time. Autumn Equinox is September 22. Winter is the most fortunate season in a Rat year.

Things will take time. Save sweeping change for 2022 Water Tiger year. Then you can follow your feelings in springtime. But for now, Rat is a planner, and this spring of Rat year is ideal to plan, organize, and focus on feng shui to clear the path for new opportunities.

2020 and 2021 are Metal years. In feng shui, the element Metal is represented by the clean, pristine environment that shines like real metal. If there ever was a time to reduce and remove clutter, it’s now. Rat year is excellent to organize and clean up, especially your financial records. There’s always a focus on money in a Rat year.

The element Metal correlates to the bedroom. Metal is a yin element, and the bedroom is a yin room for rest and sleep. 2020 and 2021 are the years to make your bedroom a healing (and tidy) sanctuary.

Rats are nocturnal animals. The hours of the Rat are 11 pm – 1 am. Those born during Rat year or hour can have a predisposition for insomnia. The Rat mind is always working and thinking, creating and planning. So 2020 is the year to create peaceful bedrooms for you and your family.

Contact me to schedule your feng shui consultation for Rat year. More feng shui info and fortunate paint colors.

Mercury will be retrograde for three weeks from February 16 until March 9. Mercury is retrograde in Water sign Pisces for increased sensitivity.

Luck is strongest for Fire signs Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius and those born in Rat, Tiger, and Dragon years.

Happy full Moon,

Susan

If there ever was a time to reduce and remove clutter, it’s now. Rat year is an excellent time to organize and clean up, especially your financial records. There’s always a focus on money in a Rat year.

The element Metal correlates to the bedroom. (5 Elements info below.) Metal is a yin element, and the bedroom is a yin room for rest and sleep.

So 2020 is the year to create a peaceful bedrooms for you and your family. Contact me to schedule your feng shui consultation for Rat year.

FIVE ELEMENTS

Boost energy and start a new cycle in Rat year by painting your home in spring or summer. The energy of any room can be transformed by adding a coat of fresh paint.

If all rooms of your home have white or ivory walls, all white is too much of the element Metal that can lead to arguing. So paint one room with color, or trim a room with color. Don’t know which room to paint? Paint the room that most needs to be refreshed.

Do the work in small, digestible bites in a Rat year. And with a group because Rat loves the pack. Start with one room, and by the end of summer, the whole house is done.

Each room of your home correlates to the 5 Taoist elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood:

5 elements brightFIRE/HEART/LIVING ROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element Fire is represented by the heart. The living room is the heart of the home. Your living room is best with accents of the bright and lively Fire colors red, purple, orange, and all shades of red. Bright accents stimulate conversation and activity. Strong FIRE brings passion, energy, and creativity.

EARTH/STOMACH/DINING ROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element earth is the stomach. The dining room is where we eat and digest food. The dining room is best in earthen tones of gold, terra cotta, or other soft yin colors. Red walls (Fire) in a dining area are too stimulating and people eat too fast. Strong EARTH brings stability, balance, and patience.

METAL/LUNGS/BEDROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element metal is the lungs. The bedroom is where we sleep and breathe deeply while resting. Best bedroom colors are white, cream, and soft pastels. Avoid bright big prints on bedding and drapery, especially in children’s bedrooms, because colorful prints are too yang and not restful. Strong METAL brings logic, clarity, and intelligence.

WATER/KIDNEYS/BATHROOM – In Chinese medicine, the element water is the kidneys. In the bathroom, paint this room in a soft, quiet, and calm color for peaceful elimination of waste and for soothing bathing or showering. Light blue is fine. Strong WATER brings wisdom and serenity.

WOOD/LIVER/KITCHEN – In Chinese medicine, the element wood is the liver. Wood is used in a kitchen to feed the cooking fire. The kitchen must be kept very clean because this is where food is prepared, so white walls are best. But green accents or a plant are recommended to introduce the Wood element into this Wood room. Strong WOOD brings growth, enthusiasm, and enthusiasm.

LUCK ENTERS

In a Metal year, stop clutter before it builds by maintaining the habit of tidying up before you leave your home or office. Then a peaceful environment awaits you when you return. Especially at your place of work, it’s not favorable to leave a mess over the weekend.

Then start at your front door. Clean your entry to welcome all the good luck that will come into your home and place of business in the new year. Wash, sweep, or vacuum the front steps, porch, entry hall, lobby — whatever the entry is where you live.

Make this area clean, well lit, and inviting. Check the entry’s lighting fixtures, make sure the doorbell works, and paint touch-ups on scuff marks. Add an welcome mat if needed. Or replace an old one if it’s worn out its welcome.

For a business, make sure that your entry is clean and inviting, and that there is good signage with clear address numbers. A business must be easy to find, and attractive to enter. One third of business success is good feng shui at the entrance.

1ST THING SEEN

What is the first thing seen when you enter your home? Your eye goes somewhere, so direct the eye by organizing each room so that the first thing seen sets a pleasant tone to make the room inviting to enter.

Make sure that the first thing seen in each room is clean and inspiring. You do not want to see a pile of paperwork or any type of clutter. Stay tidy, especially during this element Metal year, the time for a clean, pristine environment.

BA-GUA MAP

A popular style of feng shui is to overlay a map of eight tri-grams, or ba-gua in Chinese. For those who use this method, focus on the Wealth corner in Rat year to create an abundance of money.

The wealth corner is located in the far left-hand corner from the entry. Every room of your home and office has a Wealth corner to embellish during this Rat year.

LUCKY PLANTS

feng_shui430x300

It can be fortunate to add healthy plants and  flowers to your home and workplace to increase abundance. And plants offer fresh oxygen.

Indoors or out, it’s best to have plants that stay evergreen all year, and that do not lose their leaves in any season. One of my favorite indoor plants is Chinese evergreen that also has a lovely flower.

Lucky flowers are orchids, peonies, and lilies. Roses are fine in a home or office, but remove them if there’s arguing. Avoid thorny plants like cacti. Don’t have a green thumb? Check out silk flowers.

Remember, take small bites in a Rat year. And be consistent. If removing clutter, start with one drawer. Then the next one. Want a big life change? Start making plans now, and pursue them in small nibbles. But keep nibbling. Results arrive in autumn, and winter is Rat’s luckiest season.

Happy New Year,

Susan

NEW MOON in AQUARIUS begins RAT YEAR

January 24 2020 is a new Moon in Aquarius that begins the month of the Tiger and the year of the Rat. Chinese New Year begins every year with the Sun and new Moon in Aquarius. Aquarius correlates to Tiger, so the 1st lunar month is always the month of the Tiger.

Chinese New Year is the second new Moon after Winter Solstice. The exact new Moon is January 24 at 1:42 PM Pacific Time, although the Rat New Year will be celebrated in Asia on January 25 in 2020.

EARTH TIGER MONTH

Of the five Taoist elements Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire, this new Moon begins the Earth Tiger month. Energetic Tiger likes to take risks, and the element Earth grounds and focuses Tiger energy.

In Chinese Medicine, Tiger’s earthly branch is Wood. The element Earth nurtures Wood which slows down impatient Tiger and helps them evolve their spiritual side. Therefore, Earth Tiger is a fortunate Tiger.

Tiger month brings opportunity for all, and is strongest for Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini and those born in Tiger, Dog, Horse, and Pig years. More Tiger info.

YEAR of the RAT

Rat year is a time of strong endings and fresh beginnings because Rat is the first sign of the Chinese zodiac that starts a new 12-year cycle. Anticipate scientific discoveries, medical breakthroughs, and an increase in technological inventions. Creativity flourishes, with advancement in everything from artificial intelligence to soil analysis on Mars.

Rat is considered a lucky astrology sign, making Rat year a time of abundance and good fortune. Social Rat loves the pack, so this year is ideal to work collectively to launch new strategies. Ventures begun in a Rat year are fortunate, but only if well planned. So plan, organize, then plan again. Rat is a doer who cares about performance, progress, and rewards.

During a Rat year there is a focus on money for both personal and global finance, like the last Rat year 2008 of the Great Recession. 2020 brings an even stronger focus on international markets, excessive wealth, and real estate because it’s a Metal year. Autumn and winter are the most fortunate seasons.

METAL RAT

2020 is the year of the Metal Rat. The element Metal represents money and the resources of Mother Earth such as gold and silver. Anticipate fluctuations in world economies and shifts of political power. There can be a financial reset of rich and poor, with more people raised out of poverty. But Metal also represents weaponry, and Rat year can bring collective militarization.

Metal personality traits include strength, independence, focus, intensity, righteousness, and fluency in speech. The Metal personality is very determined and powerful. One born in a Metal year succeeds by being less opinionated, accepting change, and gracefully releasing the past.

The element Metal rules the lungs in Chinese Medicine so take care of your lungs this year, especially in autumn. Lunar Surgery Tips.

More information about Metal Rat is in my book Taoist Astrology available online and at bookstores.

LUCKY HOURS

In Rat year, activities are more successful during Rat, Ox, Dragon and Monkey hours that are favorable for Rat.

Rat hours are 11 pm – 1 am
Ox hours are 1 am – 3 am
Dragon hours are 7 am – 9 am
Monkey hours are 3 pm – 5 pm
The biggest block of time 11 pm – 3 am is best for nocturnal Rat.

RAT PERSONALITY

Those born in Rat years (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020) are smart, sharp, funny people who are highly perceptive. They are excellent at analyzing data to arrive at the correct conclusions, and can quickly figure out how to solve problems. Their quick wit and style makes them popular, and are delightful when they turn on the charm.

But a Rat won’t reveal their true feelings if emotions block their success. Even the shyest Rat can be ambitious and calculating because Rat wants to win. Rat works hard and plays hard too, making this year a time for socializing, entertaining, and enjoying a variety of cuisines. Rats are most compatible with another Rat, Ox, Dragon, and Monkey.

RAT – You start a new 12-year life cycle in your Rat year. Step up and be the leader. Others will follow you, and help you stRATegize and develop plans. Time for a new direction, or to entrench and strengthen your current path. Either choice requires dedication, then follow-up in Ox year 2021. 1984 Wood Rat and 1960 Metal Rat most strongly consider a career change this year. Be patient and maintain steady progress because winter is your best season. An excellent year for marriage, to have a child, or make a move. In relationships, Rat is most compatible with another Rat, Dragon, or Monkey. Ox is also compatible.

OX – Rat year is fortunate for Oxen, and starts a two-year lucky cycle. Be open to new ideas and opportunities. Rat year is the time to work collectively so be more engaged, especially in your career. Your slow and steady methods are finally appreciated. Next year 2021 is your Ox year to develop the best of your Rat year endeavors. Luck is strongest for 1973 Water Ox and 1961 Metal Ox. This year and next is good for marriage and having a child. Autumn is your best season, and all winter months are lucky. This element Metal year is also ideal for an Ox to completely clean your environment, and paint your home in the summer. Get it done this year, before your Ox year 2021. In relationships, Ox is most compatible with another Ox, Phoenix (Rooster), or Snake. Rat is also compatible.

TIGER – Tiger is stronger than Rat so stay in your power this year. And strive to be social. Rat loves the pack, whereas Tiger can be a loner. Your year for big gains and advancement is Tiger year 2022. So maintain what you’ve already created. Tiger likes action, but money could be tight, and Rat year can bring expensive distractions. If others become argumentative, hold back on the Tiger temper, especially at work. Spring is your best season, and OK to lay low in winter. In relationships, Tiger is most compatible with another Tiger, Horse, or Dog. Pig is also compatible.

RABBIT – Expect a good year with opportunities for advancement, especially 1963 Water Rabbit. An auspicious time to change residence or invest in real estate. But carefully examine all documents. Be less naive and trusting because Rabbit’s innate kindness can be mistaken for weakness. Avoid lawsuits, or any kind of entrapment or fast deal. Career progresses steadily so maintain a good pace, and not become overwhelmed by Rat race energy. Rat’s active intensity can, at times, give Rabbit a nervous feeling. March, June, and November are your luckiest months. In relationships, Rabbit is most compatible with another Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig. Dog is also compatible.

DRAGON – Finally, your lucky year! Dragon starts a new cycle after two years of stagnation. All Dragons can have a breakthrough, especially the 2000 Metal Dragon and 1952 Water Dragon. The spotlight is back on you Dragon, and others look to you for leadership. So step forward, shine, and lead! For most Dragons, it’s time to regroup and strengthen your current path. But for some Dragons, this Rat year is time to plan and start a new path in autumn. 2020 is a very good year for marriage, to have a child, launch a business, or move your home. Spring is Dragon’s best season. In relationships, Dragon is most compatible with another Dragon, a Rat, or Monkey. Phoenix (Rooster) is also compatible.

SNAKE – You naturally have an advantage, as you do every Rat year, because snakes eat rats. Plus Snake’s earthly branch is Fire in Chinese Medicine, and 2020 is a Metal year. Fire melts Metal, adding even more strength and power. Rat is a thinker and doer, so Rat year energy can blend well with Snake’s wisdom and love of observation. Rat year is time to work collectively, but group think is not Snake’s strong suit. Best to coil and contemplate, then contemplate again, before striking. 2020 is a lunar leap year, with two Metal Snake lunar months that begin on the new Moon April 22 and the new Moon May 22, making spring and early summer your most fortunate time. Actions taken in 2020 set the foundation for Ox year 2021, your lucky year. In relationships, Snake is most compatible with another Snake, Ox, or Phoenix (Rooster). Monkey is also compatible.

HORSE – Rat is your opposite in the Chinese zodiac, so anticipate that others are not always on your page. Horse is a doer whereas Rat is a planner. You tend to act on gut instinct, whereas Rat will not show their intention. You are a warrior so your direct approach may seem harsh, not efficient. Keep an even temper, ignore Rat flattery, and do not react or over respond. If you consciously avoid any sort of conflict (especially legal) then you can do whatever you want this year, especially 1990 Metal Horse and 1966 Fire Horse. Horse’s earthly branch is Fire in Chinese Medicine, and 2020 is a Metal year. Fire melts Metal, adding even more strength to Horse. Summer is your best season, and travel is highlighted in summer. For family planning, wait until your lucky Tiger year 2022 to have children. In relationships, Horse is most compatible with another Horse, Dog, or Tiger. Sheep is also compatible.

SHEEP – Rat and Sheep are compatible at first. Both love the arts, good times, and the good life. But soon Rat and Sheep realize that they have very different goals. Rat wants money and power. Sheep wants love and peace. Yet 2020 can be a good year for us Sheep. Business improves, debts can be paid, and home life is calm. If your finances are not organized, this is your year to tend to money details. Rat’s way of taking small bites to get the job done is soothing to spiritual Sheep who would rather avoid big risks. And tend to your health, especially your lungs. Summer is your best season, and is excellent for entertaining. Luck is steady for all Sheep, and is strongest for 1991 Metal Sheep and 1979 Earth Sheep. In relationships, Sheep is most compatible with another Sheep, Pig, or Rabbit. Horse is also compatible.

MONKEY – A very fortunate year for all Monkeys! A superb year to marry, have a child, launch a business — or decide to walk an altogether new path. Your best seasons are spring and summer, with extra luck in December, that bring many opportunities for success. Rat loves the pack so make connections with others during this social Rat year when your charm and wit are appreciated. This is your year to bravely open new doors so it’s important to expand your circles, and meet like-minded people who help bring you to your next level. 1980 Metal Monkey, 1968 Earth Monkey, and 1956 Fire Monkey can make the most profound transformation. In relationships, Monkey is most compatible with another Monkey, Rat, or Dragon. Snake is also compatible.

PHOENIX (Rooster) – Rooster, Chicken, Cock, Hen? I call you Phoenix, offering a lifetime of opportunities to be reborn and transformed. 2020 is a good year for education, travel, and to expand your circle. The two Metal Snake lunar months in 2020 that begin on the new Moon April 22 and the new Moon May 22 make spring and early summer very fortunate for the growth and transformation that Phoenix loves. But Rat and Phoenix are both concerned about money. So in 2020 be practical, discreet, and use strategy. Money might be tight so stay structured and balanced. Avoid bad business deals by being patient. Autumn is your strongest season, so anticipate a good harvest based on your hard work. 2021 Ox year is a much better year for you. Luck is best for 1981 Metal Phoenix and 1957 Fire Phoenix. In relationships, Phoenix is most compatible with another Phoenix, Ox, or Snake. Dragon is also compatible.

DOG – A positive year when health is good, travel is highlighted, and it’s time to socialize. Both Dog and Rat love the pack! But focus your attention on business too, because Rat year brings opportunities to advance your career. Rat is a strategic planner whereas Dog is more instinctive. To avoid problems, be very patient with others. If work becomes a competitive Rat race, then step back. Don’t start chasing your tail to keep up. Ox year 2021 provides enough time for you to complete projects the way you want. Goals come to fruition in Tiger year 2022. For family planning, wait until Tiger year to have children. Autumn is your best season. Luck is strongest for the 1970 Metal Dog and 1982 Water Dog. In relationships, Dog is most compatible with another Dog, Tiger, or Horse. Rabbit is also compatible.

PIG – A year for new experiences, romance is highlighted, and Pig enjoys social success! Anticipate a prosperous business year. But pace yourself, especially in winter your best season. Just don’t overwork if Rat year energy becomes competitive. If there are delays, they’re due to the Rat need for details. But be aware that Rat wants the best deal for Rat, whereas Pig wants what is best for all. So don’t allow your kind heart to be taken advantage of this year. Stay strong, have boundaries, and do not loan money. Be very careful with finances. Continue being kind even when others are just acting kind for an advantage. In relationships, Pig is most compatible with another Pig, Sheep, or Rabbit. Tiger is also compatible.

PIG YEAR CHARM

February 12, 2019 § 3 Comments

charming tigerWhat is the best charm for 2019 Pig year? A TIGER charm! You want the full body charm, not just a Tiger head. But no Tiger charm if you were born in Monkey year because Monkey is opposite Tiger.

Pig is most compatible with Pig’s harmony trine of artistic and sensitive like-minded souls Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. Tiger is the one other animal sign who is Pig’s ally outside Pig’s harmony trine.
Each year, the lucky charm is the animal sign who is the ally, but not in the harmony trine.

Charms can be worn as jewelry, attached to a handbag, worn in your pocket, or placed in your clothing or wallet.
You can find a Tiger charm in the Chinatown in your city, or look online. Tiger is superb for protection. But if you find that Tiger energy makes you too argumentative, or brings a short temper, then remove the Tiger charm.

Remember that a Tiger charm is not recommended if you were born in Monkey year because Tiger is Monkey’s opposite. And if you have Snake charms or decorations, especially in your home, put them away this Pig year because Snake is opposite Pig.

Know that you can have luck in this Pig year without wearing or carrying any charms. A clean bedroom can strengthen your relationship as much as carrying a Tiger charm in your handbag. A tidy work station can advance your career as much as the finest Tiger charm on your desk. (Your Tiger should face the entry. Anything with a face should face the entry.)

So to enhance your luck, keep your home and workplace clean and tidy. Then it will be easier to stay balanced and not become overwhelmed, especially at work. Contact me for your feng shui consultation for Pig Year.
