NEW MOON in CANCER

July 4th 2016 at 4:01 am PT is a new Moon in Water sign Cancer. The Sun, new Moon, Mercury, and Venus are all in Cancer, making this lunar month the time to focus on home, friends and family, and taking care of your health. We finally get a break from the fast-paced and lively activities of this Fire Monkey year to slow down, reset your energy, and tend to whatever needs to be balanced in your life.

FireworksThis new Moon on the 4th of July holiday is fortunate, and sets the tone for the entire lunar month. Love planet Venus conjunct Sun, new Moon, and Mercury creates happy social times and good communication. Plus Venus trines Mars in Scorpio for passion and romance. The United States was born in 1776, a Fire Monkey year, and 2016 is a Fire Monkey year, so anticipate much activity and celebration this holiday weekend.

The new Moon, Sun, and Mercury all trine Neptune in Pisces for increased imagination and creativity. Empathy and sensitivity are heightened. People are more idealistic, seeing the best in others. These harmonious trines temper Neptune opposite Jupiter in Virgo and squaring Mars in Sagittarius when it can be easy to speculate or take foolish risks, especially with finances. The Sun, new Moon, Mercury, and Venus all square Pluto when emotions could get carried away and lead to impulses that are not in your best interest.

WOOD SHEEP MONTH

Sheep in LoveThis July 4th new Moon begins the month of the Wood Sheep. Sheep is a symbol of love and peace. Artistic Sheep is a gentle soul who loves the fine things in life. Sheep month comforts are most strongly appreciated by Water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces and those born in Sheep, RabbitHorse, and Pig years. 2016 Summer Solstice Full Moon

Summer Solstice!

SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON on SUMMER SOLSTICE

June 20, 2016 at 4:02 am PT is a full Moon in Sagittarius. This is the second full Moon in Sagittarius this year, an unusual occurrence. This full Moon in 29 degrees of Sagittarius, the last degree of this sign, brings a second opportunity to speak your truth, make change, and move forward. At 3:24 pm PT is Summer Solstice, the longest day in the northern hemisphere. Time to enjoy the sunshine and beauty of Mother Nature at her peak.

The Sun is conjunct Venus that brings creativity, romance, and social times. But this Sun/Venus conjunction is opposite the full Moon so your head might decide one thing while you heart feels another. Fortunately, the full Moon trines Uranus to break your routine, and discover new ideas and experiences.

There is a grand mutable square of Mercury in Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius, and squaring Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces. Due to so many mutable signs, it’s easy to get ahead of yourself. It can be a challenge to be patient or allow events to develop over time, especially in relationships. It’s best to be flexible and adaptable to more easily flow with mutable energy.

Fiery Sagittarius full Moon plus Summer Solstice energy is inspirational for all, and is most strongly experienced by the Fire signs Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo and those born in Rat, Dragon, and Monkey years. During these exciting times, call me at 415.642.8019 in San Francisco or email susan@susanlevitt.com to schedule your tarot, astrology, or feng shui consultation.

ORACLES or Luck of the Draw

June 4, 2016 § Leave a comment

10wheeloffortuneHappy new Moon! My tarot card today is the Wheel of Fortune #10, one of my favorite cards. It augers expansion, good luck, and growth. The astrological attribute is Jupiter, the planet of good fortune in astrology, the Santa Claus of the zodiac.

I’ve noticed over the decades how I get such good tarot cards. I think that’s because I love tarot! Years ago when I read rune stones, I kept getting the blank stone. So I made my own set of rune stones of porcelain clay, and sewed a red velvet bag to hold them, to personalize this oracle for me. The first rune stone I selected from my red bag was, of course, blank.

The I-Ching is one of the greatest oracles in world history and literature. But years ago, for about a year I kept getting hexagram #22 Grace when I cast the I-Ching. Like the runes, this oracular tool was just not speaking to me.

So do not be discouraged if an oracle does not click with you. Try other ones! You will notice right away the parallels between all oracles, such as the blank rune correlates to The Fool in the tarot. Use the oracle that is easiest for you, and has the most natural flow when using it.

The three oracles I use are tarot, astrology, and the movement of (or communication from) animals, especially birds. Animal movement to the right means yes. Movement to the left means no. Left is sinistra in Italian, or sinister in English. But no is not always bad. Sometimes it is the correct answer.

Astrology is not subjective because it is based on astronomy and calendrics. This evening really is a new Moon. If you look in the night sky, you will see planets in conjunction. Some of my astrology clients are tech engineers here in the Bay Area who only do astrology consultations with me because in their worldview astrology is based on science, whereas they consider tarot “the luck of the draw.”

I’m all for the luck of the draw, especially when the draw is the Wheel of Fortune!

Happy new Moon,

Susan
