TAURUS DOUBLE SNAKE ECLIPSE
May 5, 2013 § 2 Comments
NEW MOON ECLIPSE
Thursday May 9 is a new Moon eclipse at 5:28 pm PDT in the solid Earth sign Taurus the Bull. This new Moon is time to focus on practical earthly matters: your health, the food you eat, your money and financial security, career and the work you do.
An eclipse is an absence of light when the “shadow” is seen so now there are opportunities to address practical matters that you may have been avoiding. Passions and goals are strong as the Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Mars are all in Taurus for a burst of new energy. Just be realistic about the amount of work involved to achieve a goal or manifest a dream because…
DOUBLE SNAKE
This new Moon eclipse begins the month of the Fire Snake, creating double Snake power: a Snake month in a Snake year! The Fire Snake can be very driven, is intense, spiritual, and born to succeed. Fire Snake is a dynamic worker who is not easily intimidated by anyone or anything. So luck is with you to set and accomplish goals, launch new endeavors, try new methods, and take innovative risks.
But be thorough in this Snake year and slow is better, especially with so many planets in Taurus. Luck is strongest for the Earth signs Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo and for those born in Snake, Ox, Dragon, and Phoenix (Rooster) years, and during Snake hours 9 am – 11 am.
Happy new Moon,
Susan
May 6 – 12, 2013 The Week in Chinese Astrology
May 4, 2013 § Leave a Comment
Highlights this week are a new Moon eclipse on Thursday at 5:28 pm PDT that starts the month of the Fire Snake, a fun and lucky for love Friday night, and a very harmonious Sunday for Mother’s Day.
Monday May 6 is an interesting Water Monkey day (black Monkey) when the Moon blends with Uranus. Moods and opinions change quickly, people feel impulsive, and no one wants to follow routine. Plus Moon squares Pluto adding to the compulsiveness and sense of rebellion. Fortunately communication planet Mercury trines Pluto for an interest in what lies below the surface to arrive at understanding. Luck is strongest for Monkey, Rat, Dragon, and Snake and during Monkey hours 3 pm – 5 pm.
Tuesday May 7 Mercury blends with the fiery red planet Mars so communicate with care. There is intellectual competitiveness and people can be defensive or say mean things especially on this Water Rooster day. So no pecking! Bickering is just not worth it as energy winds down to the new Moon on Thursday. Luck is strongest for Rooster, Ox, Dragon, and Snake and during Rooster hours 5 pm – 7 pm.
Wednesday May 8 is a solid Wood Dog day for strength of convictions and fair play. Moon sextiles Neptune for increased sensitivity to other people’s emotions. It’s comforting to be with friends and loved ones. Moon is opposite Pluto for profound emotions and deep sense of caring. If feeling guilty, jealousy, or other strange emotions it’s fortunate to talk about it with a counselor, healer, or loved one. Luck is strongest for the Dog, Rabbit, Tiger, and Horse and during Dog hours 7 pm – 9 pm.
Thursday May 9 is a new Moon eclipse at 5:28 pm PDT that starts the month of the Fire Snake creating double Snake power: a Snake month in a Snake year! Passions and goals are strong as the Moon blends with Sun, Mercury, and Mars for a burst of new energy. Moon trines Pluto for intensity of emotions, and encounters are intimate not superficial. Today is a Wood Pig day but pacifist Pig’s energy is overwhelmed by the power of focused Snake. Luck is strongest for Snake, Ox, Dragon, and Rooster and during Snake hours 9 am – 11 am.
Fri May 10 is an engaging Fire Rat day when Moon blends with love planet Venus. Good to get out and socialize, people feel cheerful, it’s a great time for a party, and the intensity of yesterday’s eclipse is much lighter. Love relationships are lucky, and if single a new love can be discovered. Today is also fortunate for feng shui improvements that add beauty to your home. Luck is strongest for Rat, Ox, Dragon, and Monkey, and during Rat hours 11 pm – 1 am.
Sat May 11 is a Fire Ox day that’s best for structure and stability, but Moon sextiles Uranus bringing the desire for something unique and different. Sun blends with Mercury for interesting conversations and opportunities to communicate what’s on your mind, but Moon squares Neptune so emotions are not clear and it’s easy to get lost in daydreams. Lighten up and try not to sign contracts or make binding commitments that cannot later be changed. Luck is strongest for Ox, Rat, Snake, and Rooster and during Ox hours 1 am – 3 am.
Sun May 12 is strong Earth Tiger day on Mother’s Day. Fortunately Moon blends with Jupiter for all good things! People are more generous, feel uplifted, and have a sense that everything is fine. Good for spiritual insights and compassion. No one is easily angered even on a Tiger day because the Earth Tiger (yellow Tiger, or golden Tiger) is the most grounded and stable of all Tigers. Luck is strongest for Tiger, Dog, Horse, and Pig and during Tiger hours 3 am – 5 am.
Have a great week!
Love,
Susan
NEW MOON in ARIES begins FIRE DRAGON month
April 9, 2013 § 2 Comments
NEW MOON IN ARIES
Wednesday April 10 at 2:35 am PDT is a new Moon in the dynamic Fire sign Aries. Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, and Uranus are all in Aries so take action and be the leader not the follower. This new Moon is a very fortunate time to start new endeavors and pursue goals. It’s fortunate to socialize, network, and expand your circle. Love and romance are favored so be innovative, creative, and take risks — even though a new love affair could fizzle fast. Still, risks are rewarded and the time is now.
FIRE DRAGON MONTH
This new Moon begins the month of the Fire Dragon when springtime energy changes to the Dragon pursuit of power. No one can tell a Fire Dragon what to do. Fire Dragons might be impulsive and make mistakes, but then move right on to the next adventure. Plus this new Moon is on a Fire Horse day to follow your gut instincts just like a real horse. This month of the Fire Dragon, followed by the month of the Fire Snake in May, are the two most powerful months of this Snake year 2013. Luck is strongest for the Fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius and for those born in Horse, Tiger, Dragon, and Monkey years and on the new Moon during Dragon hours 7 am – 9 am and Horse hours 11 am – 1 pm.
Happy new Moon!
New Moon in Pisces, Hare Month, and Spring Equinox

NEW MOON IN PISCES
Monday March 11 at 12:51 pm PDT is a new Moon in the spiritual Water sign Pisces. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Neptune are all in Pisces — and that’s a lot of Pisces! Now is the time to follow your intuition, trust what you feel, and be open to new inspiration from your creative imagination. A new Moon is a time for a new beginning making this highly sensitive Pisces new Moon ideal for a spiritual retreat, creative project, or experiences that allow nurturing energy to flow through you.
But so much sensitivity can be challenging of you’re overwhelmed by small matters, or if increased empathy has you feeling like a psychic sponge picking up on the moods of others. This could be a confusing time, especially with Mercury still retrograde in Pisces. Please feel free to call me at 415.642.8019 or send an email to susan@susanlevitt.com for guidance with a private tarot card reading or astrology forecast. I understand Piscean energy because I am a Pisces.
WOOD HARE MONTH
This new Moon begins the month of the Wood Hare. Under Hare’s influence, kindness is more important than material gain. Hare qualities are diplomacy, gentleness, and appreciation of art and beauty. Developing beauty can be easier because this new Moon blends with the planet Venus to bring an easy flow of love, art, and creativity. Time for some feng shui adjustments this month to enhance the beauty of your home because home and personal sanctuary are very important to sensitive Hare. The element Wood is perfect for growth, change, and transformation in springtime.
SPRING EQUINOX
Equal day and equal night
First the dark and then the light.
Wednesday March 20 at 4:02 am PDT is Spring Equinox, the time of equal day and equal night. Spring officially arrives on this day when the Sun enters the Fire sign Aries to being the new astrological year.
Happy new Moon,
Susan
New Moon in Aquarius Begins the Year of the Water Snake 2013
February 7, 2013 § Leave a Comment
The new Moon on Feb 9 at 11:20 pm PST (but listed as Feb 10 in many calendars) begins the year of the Water Snake. Chinese New Year is a spring festival that begins on the second new Moon after Winter Solstice, with the Sun and Moon in Aquarius. This new Moon also begins the month of the Wood Tiger so energy is still strong and lively as Snake year begins, but far less intense than Dragon year 2012.
On this new Moon, the planets Mercury, Mars, and Neptune are all in the spiritual Water sign Pisces, a time for mysticism, spirituality, and meditation — perfect for the Water Snake! Snake is a spiritual sign of wisdom, so what is of value this year are deep experiences and breakthroughs. Time to shed your old skin with transformation and guidance from astrology, tarot, and other forms of divination, massage, therapy, acupuncture, feng shui, herbs, and alternative healing. During this sensitive year of the Water Snake, rewards are found in the inner world of spirit not the outer world of money and material things.
In Chinese astrology, the Snake is not evil or bad. Snakes are respected as magical creatures because a Snake sheds its skin to be reborn. As Snake crawls on the Earth with strength and fluidity, she is connected to Earth and the powers of healing. The venom of this mysterious power animal can cause death. Therefore, this mystical Snake year is time for powerful rebirth and transformation in all areas of your life.
YOUR FORTUNE IN WATER SNAKE YEAR – East and West
Feel free to call me at 415.642.8019 or send an email to susan@susanlevitt.com for your Snake Year forecast.
Chinese Signs:
Rat: Rats are smart, sharp, and clever. Snake is also smart, sharp, and clever making this a very favorable year for you. If you were successful in Dragon year 2012 your good fortune will continue in this Snake year. If you did not achieve all you wanted to, now is your time to succeed. Just be patient, bide your time, and organize.
Ox: You start a new lucky life cycle in 2013. Finally your hard work is rewarded! This is your year to cultivate a spiritual practice. Yoga, tai chi, and other forms of moving meditation are ideal for you. Snake is your best friend, along with Phoenix (Rooster) so the general tone of this year matches your values.
Tiger: Tiger and Snake are very different. You Tiger are strong, active, and yang whereas as Snake is passive, receptive, and yin. You want to act, express, and do whereas Snake is content to coil up, contemplate, and seek answers within. So slow down and do not lose your temper. Your lucky year will be Horse 2014.
Hare: Hare and Snake are very artistic. Luck is with you to cultivate beauty and heal. Right away you’ll feel better because Snake year brings much calmer energy after the stressful chaos of Dragon year 2012. The slower pace of this Snake year is reassuring for a gentle and peaceful soul like you.
Dragon: Your good fortune continues from Dragon year 2012. Just move more slowly in 2013. If you made a big change in your life last year, then this Snake year is the time to build on your new foundation. If you were unable to make a change in Dragon year 2012, you still have time in Snake year to shed your skin and transform.
Snake: You start a new twelve-year life cycle. Now is an opportune year for change, growth, and transformation on many levels. The energy of this Snake year matches your steady, wise, and unhurried pace. The meditative, contemplative focus of a Snake year is even stronger now because 2013 is a Water Snake year.
Horse: Snake and Horse do not share the same values and are quite different. You Horse are a yang astrology sign who is direct, honest, and brave. Yin Snake is reflective, quiet, and prefers to stew over problems. You seek action, adventure, and excitement, unlike the Snake. So slow down and make plans for your lucky year Horse 2014.
Sheep: An excellent year for Sheep! You are social, comfortable, and have a new attitude. You sensitive Sheep will feel the difference at Chinese New Year when Snake year begins. Your life will be far less stressful, you are not rushed, and your kindness is appreciated. This Snake year starts a three-year lucky life cycle for Sheep.
Monkey: Monkey and Snake are allies, but this year you’re not always in synch. Snake is fine with no movement at all, whereas you Monkey thrive on change and variety. If Dragon year 2012 ended in success for you, then maintain what you accomplished. If events did not go your way, learn from your mistakes and start again.
Phoenix (Rooster): Snake year is a superb time when your dreams can come true! Good luck comes your way because you are prepared and hard working. In 2013 your luck accelerates in springtime and Snake year ends in a beautiful rebirth and transformation for you. So plan well and anticipate good fortune in Snake year 2013.
Dog: Snake begins with good fortune for you Dog, and all months this year are very fortunate except April. You won’t feel under too much pressure, and can recover from any difficulties you may have experienced in Dragon year 2012. The Water Snake’s easy flow of energy offers you security and stability.
Pig: Snake is your opposite so this is not considered to be your lucky year. Go slowly and don’t make big plans or big changes. OK to dream and plan, but avoid big life events such as moving home, marriage, having a child, or changing career. And don’t be the fall guy or gullible victim of a Snake year intrigue.
Western Signs:
Aries: Events occur slowly in a Snake year. But you fiery Aries were born ready to go! So learn to slow down and be patient, especially with children and family members. Use your dynamic energy to fix, repair, and redo. Then you can be active while allowing others to move at their own pace.
Taurus: Snake year is lucky for you, gentle Bull, because Snake correlates to the western sign Taurus. Both Snake and Taurus love art and beauty. This year is ideal to enjoy museums, art galleries, and creative expression of all kinds. Snake is slow and steady, just like you.
Gemini: You Gemini are smart, fast, mercurial, and curious. But Snake is none of these things. So slow down and resist the urge to tell others what to do. Use your bright mind to develop plans for Horse year 2014 which will be your lucky year because Horse correlates to the western sign Gemini.
Cancer: You are very sensitive and intuitive, just like the Water Snake. You will enjoy this Snake year when you can have plenty of time to relax and unwind. Focus on repairing or redecorating your home this year while under the influence of the artist Snake.
Leo: You mighty Leo love to roar, and you thrive in the spotlight. But introverted and cautious Snake is not like that. So learn to hold your tongue when you want to tell others exactly what’s on your mind. Events occur quietly behind the scenes so listen before acting.
Virgo: Analytical and practical Virgo shares these fine traits with the Snake. You’ll benefit from planning, organizing, and paying attention to the details — and details are Virgo’s specialty. You can enjoy success in this Snake year when others are on your wavelength.
Libra: Snake year will be fine for you as long as you stay balanced and truthful. But spend a little more time developing relationships instead of falling in love too fast! Allow time for events to unfold. Then you won’t be duped or tricked by others because honesty is not always a priority in a Snake year.
Scorpio: Snake year is a time when secrets are revealed, and you Scorpio will love that! Events can be a bit clandestine, and you are psychic and intuitive enough to figure out what is happening and why. You will find this Water Snake year to your liking.
Sagittarius: You are a speaker of truth, but Snake does not easily reveal what she is thinking or feeling. So know that this is not the year for whistle blowing or exposing others. But like the Snake, when the time is right you can hit the target and not miss.
Capricorn: Stable and steady Capricorn appreciates the energy of a Snake year. Events slow down, people are more cautious, and you have time to plan a structure, especially in your career. Just be more aware that others can be sneaky or snaky so take care.
Aquarius: Snake loves to learn, and the more esoteric the better. That suits you just fine, so delve into all the mysterious topics that interest you. Take your time to digest new information. Knowledge and wisdom are your rewards.
Pisces: You sweet fish Pisces will enjoy the calming influence that Snake year brings, especially after the intense energy of Dragon year 2012. Take care of yourself and enjoy a holiday near a body of water to refresh your soul.
Happy New Moon and happy New Year,
Susan

January 8, 2013 § 2 Comments
NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN
Friday January 11 is a new Moon in the practical Earth sign Capricorn. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Pluto are all in Capricorn so imagination and creativity are not as important as pragmatic goals and no-nonsense responsibility. In your communication, it’s best to slow down and be thorough. At home and work, structure your surroundings so you have a better sense of control. Under Capricorn’s influence, material objects are valued if they have both beauty and purpose.

This new Moon begins the month of the Water Ox, the final month of this Dragon year. Rewards are found through hard work, patience, and serious dedication. VIRGO NEW MOON Starts GOLD Phoenix/Rooster Month
September 12, 2012 § Leave a Comment
NEW MOON IN VIRGO
Saturday September 15 is a new Moon in the Earth sign Virgo. Now is
fortunate to tidy up, get organized, and take care of your health.
Balance is key as we approach Autumn Equinox on September 22, equal
day and equal night everywhere on Earth. The seasonal wheel turns as
summer ends and autumn begins. In the autumn of this Dragon year,
the pulse of life is not slowing. If you’re worn out, use the energy
of this lunar cycle to regain balance and maintain your health.
EARTH PHOENIX MONTH
This new Moon starts the month of the Earth Phoenix, also called the
Earth Rooster. The Earth Phoenix is the golden Phoenix, one of the most
fortunate signs of the Chinese zodiac. Your fortune can increase this
month by being like the gold Phoenix: practical, kind, honest, stable,
industrious, and loyal. Good health, vibrant healing, and conscious nutrition
are for everyone and most strongly transform the Earth signs Virgo,
Capricorn, and Taurus and those born in Phoenix, Ox, and Serpent years.
Happy New Moon,
Susan
